Early Signs Of Labor Signal The Baby Arrival

Written By Unknown on Tuesday, October 27, 2015 | 12:24 AM

Your body starts giving the early signs of labor when the delivery date approaches closer. For first-time mothers, these signs may occur a few weeks before the actual time. In subsequent deliveries though, the labor signs are usually late. You must watch each and every change that your body shows and the pregnancy symptoms that you experience.

Your body starts preparing itself for childbirth; you must also be mentally prepared for the labor. Recognizing the early signs of labor helps a lot in getting ready for the delivery.

Some Important Early Labor Signs

Here are some labor signs that you must never ignore-

Engagement stage: As the delivery due date comes closer, your baby head will start dropping in the pelvic area. This is due to the softening of the uterus. This stage is called the engagement or dropping stage. You start breathing easily and the heartburn lessens. This may happen two to four weeks before your baby is born.

Pelvic pressure: This is an obvious early sign of labor when, due to the baby drop in pelvic region, you start experiencing discomfort and pain in the pelvis. The baby puts extra pressure on your bowel making you experience frequent bowel movements and you also want to pass urine more. During this time you will also notice some swelling in hands and feet as well.

Braxton Hicks Contractions: Dr. Braxton Hicks identified these contractions, which are different from actual labor contractions but are a sure-shot symptom of approaching labor. In this, the lower part of your uterus is stretched which helps the baby head settle down in the pelvic. These contractions may intensify as you approach the delivery time. This indication is often mistaken for the actual labor contractions.

Discharge: As the uterus softens, you will notice a white or a pinkish vaginal discharge. If the discharge is frothy or yellowish, you must tell your caregiver about it.

Shivering: You may experience shivering or trembling for no reason at all. This feeling is due to the stress hormones or the change in progesterone levels of your body.

Nesting Instinct: Another expression of labor is more to do with the emotional factor. It is known as nesting instinct. During this, you start emptying and tidying drawers and cupboards. This is the feeling of maternal instinct. Do not overdo it as you need proper rest.

Discussed above were some signs of the onset of labor, which may occur a few weeks before the actual labor begins. These early signs of labor may not be same in all women, but if experienced, they send a clear signal that labor is on its way. Apart from these early symptoms, proper labor begins when you expel the mucus plug or when your water breaks or when the actual labor contractions start. Go to your hospital or birthing center as soon as you experience these pregnancy indications.

An Alkaline Diet To Get Pregnant With A Boy Baby: How Does It Work? What Foods Are Included?

Written By Unknown on Monday, October 26, 2015 | 12:28 AM

Within the last year, I've found that people are starting to buy into the idea of natural ways to select your baby's gender. Perhaps it's the economy or perhaps it's because people want to take control of their own health, but I'm starting to get a lot of emails that ask less about things like IVF gender selection and more about natural things like timing conception and going on an alkaline diet. In this article, I'll describe how and why the low PH diet works if you want to conceive a boy.

How And Why These Changes To Your Diet Help In Getting A Boy Baby: In a nutshell, your baby's gender is determined by which sperm chromosome (X (for a girl) or Y (for a boy)) gets to and fertilizes the egg first. These chromosomes are polar opposites in terms of how they interact with your reproductive tract. The girl or X sperm are slow, but very strong and hardy. The Y or boy sperm are vulnerable and weaker, but are also faster. If you want a son, your goal is to downplay this vulnerability while taking full advantage of this speed.

How And Why The Alkaline Diet Helps You Get A Boy Baby: Remember that the Y sperm are very weak, so they can't live for very long in an acidic, hostile vaginal tract that has a high PH. So, you'll need to lower this if you're trying for a boy baby. One way to do this is to go on a special diet that restricts how many acidic foods that you consume and gives you free reign to eat alkaline foods. So, you'll avoid foods with a high PH like pickled foods, blueberries, peanuts, and meats like beef and pork. And, you'll want to load up on low PH foods like leafy green vegetables, raisins, grapes, apples, almonds, and green tea. There are food lists that you can give you the exact PH of common foods and help you come up with a daily diet. I know that few people get really excited about restricting what you can eat, but understand that you aren't limiting your calories (in fact, you'll want to make sure that you get enough if you want a son) and you only have to do this until you reach your optimal level.

Another thing that you can do to lower your PH is to douche. Again, I know that this may not sound particularly exciting, but this is only for the short term and you'll likely see very quick results when you combine both of these methods. Know too that often baking sofa is not as effective as people will tell you. You can test this for yourself by using testing strips that will test the PH of your saliva. You can get these at health food stores and you can use them to determine your acidity going into this process and to monitor your progress as you try different things. It's very common to see that using both methods together will bring about the fastest and most dramatic changes. It's entirely possible to get to where you need to be using only foods, but this often requires a bit of patience.

Other Things For You To Think About In Your Regimen To Get Pregnant With A Boy Baby:

I wish that I could tell you that changing your diet or douching could absolutely guarantee you a boy baby. It does greatly increase your chances, but it often isn't enough to give you the over 90% rate of success that you can get if you add in other things. The first is correctly timing your conception to coincide with your ovulation. To get a male baby, you'll want to conceive on the day that you ovulate.

Again, testing your saliva can help you greatly with this. (Saliva ovulation predictors are both inexpensive, reusable, and reliable.)

One other variable that you can manipulate is the sexual positions that you use to conceive. Positions that allow for deep penetration will deposit the Y sperm very close to your egg and vaginal tract so that these little guys have a quick and easy trip rather than a long and difficult one.

Conceive A Boy is a website I set up to make the process of having a son a bit easier. I've included step by step instructions and resources for the douching recipes, food lists, and PH testing strips mentioned in this article as well as hints, tips, and support.
