There are a lot of different makes and styles for choosing bedding for a baby. With that said choosing a babies bedding requires that it fits the bed perfectly. The three main selections are: A bassinet, a crib or a cradle. What differentiates one from the other? A bassinet is an oblong-shaped basket that serves as a bed for an infant. But now and again, round bassinets are also available. A crib is a bed that is flanked with tall side bars for a baby or little ones safety. Cribs are usually more economical since the baby can use it from initial stages to two years. While a cradle is a little low bed that an infant uses that has rockers on its stand. In all these, the material used to make the equipment should alert and signal to the mom how much safety precautions are required.

Now that we have covered the basic equipment, how do we furnish it with the baby bedding? Now that we have established that the bedding should fit the equipment properly so as not to have any little incidents. The most appropriate material to use is cotton as it is absorbent and cool to the babies skin.

Different designs must be used to stimulate the babies colour and pattern recognition. So as you can see choosing the baby bedding is a crucial factor in maintaining your babies health and happiness.

If you are looking for something that will last and would make an ideal gift a baby gym or activity centre can be a brilliant thing to have to enable your baby to grow and learn as they play. Some of the best ones are usually made of fabric so you can take parts of to wash them to keep them clean and freshly washed.

Baby's Christening Gift - Traditional Yet Modern?

Written By Unknown on Thursday, September 24, 2015 | 12:42 AM

I bet you know of the good old English tradition to keep the top tier of your wedding cake for the christening of your first child? It is a lovely idea - if your cake lasts that long and you had a cake in the first place!

As times change, traditions evolve and other ideas gain popularity. A typical baby shower, baptism or naming ceremony feature these days is the artistically created nappy cake - although nappy ships or nappy trains also exist. These form an eye-catching centre piece on the table or grace the shelf in baby's nursery until consumed.

In fact, that is precisely what I like about nappy creations. They are stunning to look at, you can keep them for as long as you like yet pretty much every element can be used by your baby! Well, you do need to watch out for the size of the nappies as your baby may grow out of them if you keep the cake for too long...

Disposable nappies are rolled or folded into fantastic creations, intermingled with other useful baby health care items like cotton wool buds, paper tissues or wet wipes. Baby wash gel, shampoo or body lotion are also essential ingredients in these designs.

Often enough, it is the colour of the health care packaging that will determine the overall colour scheme of the nappy cake, train or ship. For instance, for a classic pink design, baby brands such as Hipp, Bübchen, Penaten or Bebe are used, a blue design will use Bübchen. If you prefer organic products, you will need to go for the brand Weleda which turns the overall colour scheme into orange or yellow.

Other useful baby products are often integrated in the different designs such as baby feeding spoons, soft toys, mobiles or bath towels.

But if you are looking for the real icing on the cake then you will choose a personalised design which may include a wooden beaded dummy chain spelling out baby's name, a personalised cotton hat or a molton towel (useful for burping baby!)

Once completed, the nappy creations are wrapped in clear cellophane with coloured paper snippets and packaged in a box suitable for sending directly to the lucky baby. How much easier could it get?

These and other lovely gift ideas can be found in my shop, http://www.international-baby-shop.com. I should add that I only advertise products that I myself, as Mummy of 3 kiddies, would use on my own family. In fact, we did use the top tier of our wedding cake for my first daughter's christening but these nappy cakes have been a fun alternative for my son's christening and my second daughter's birthday.

A New Baby List - My Top Ten Baby Gear Essentials

Written By Unknown on Saturday, September 12, 2015 | 12:27 AM

If you're a first time mom or mom to be, you are probably feeling a little overwhelmed by all those "great baby products" out there.

What you need is the advice of a mom who's been there, done that, and is now sitting with boxes of unused baby stuff!

Baby goodies are expensive, so before you go on your shopping spree, take a look at my new baby list to find out which products will give you the most value for money.

1. An Infant Car Seat

My absolute number one essential baby item - don't put baby in a car without it!

2. A Nursery Rocking Chair or Glider

Essential for maximizing mom and baby bonding time. Your nursery rocking chair is the place where you will spend countless hours of snuggle time. Not to be missed!

3. An Infant Health Book

There's nothing worse than having a sick baby and not knowing what to do. You don't want to call the doctor in the middle of the night, but you're not sure if you should wait until morning.

A good baby health book will help you to relax and determine the best course of action - put baby back to bed, or rush her off to the emergency room.

4. A Sound And Movement Monitor

Having a sound monitor in your nursery room enables you to move around the home while still being able to monitor baby wherever he is. No need to worry that you won't hear him when he wakes.

Movement, or apnea monitors check baby's breathing. An alarm goes off if baby does not inhale for an extended period -- usually twenty seconds. Often cited as a preventative measure against SIDS, these monitors do not necessarily prevent SIDS, but they do provide peace of mind. If all is quiet, you know baby's OK.

5. Infant Sleeping Bags

Lots of blankets can be dangerous for baby. They can lead to overheating and suffocation. Besides that, from around five months, babies have an annoying habit of kicking them off in the middle of the night, and waking up freezing cold. Guess who else gets woken up?

Sleeping bags are the perfect solution in winter when your baby's jammies may not be enough to keep her warm.

6. A Baby Swing

A baby swing is a must-have for soothing a fussy baby. They just love the to and fro rocking motion. Swings also make great baby sitters while you indulge in the luxury of a shower or a meal without a baby on your hip.

7. A Nursing Pillow

This is a wonderful invention, whether you are breast or bottle-feeding. Even dad can use it! The nursing pillow elevates baby to the correct feeding position, thereby eliminating back and neck ache and preventing sore nipples.

8. Burping Cloths

Take a couple of these with you everywhere you go with baby. Indispensable for keeping your shoulders clean and wiping up spills and spills and spills...

9. A Baby Sling Or Pouch

This is useful for keeping your young baby close to you while you are getting a few things done around the house. Does folding the laundry sound familiar?

Young babies don't sleep for very long at a time in the beginning and when they're not sleeping they like to be held. To have any hope of keeping your home in a livable state - you have to have a pouch!
Baby pouches are also a wonderful help if you have a colicky baby. The warmth of your body against her little tummy is very soothing and calming.

10. A Wheat Bag

I found an unexpected use for this little goody with my new baby. The warmth of a wheat bag on a sore little tummy beats every colic remedy on the market hands down. It soothes, relaxes and comforts.

How to Choose Ecologically Friendly Baby Gifts

Written By Unknown on Tuesday, September 1, 2015 | 10:55 PM

When buying a gift for a friend's baby shower, you might want to consider ecologically friendly baby gifts. These products will be healthier for the infant and better for the environment.

While your first thought might be that they will be ugly or boring, you will be surprised to find many cute, interesting baby products that are also eco-friendly. In fact, you often cannot even tell the difference between regular products and ones labeled as "green."

Products that are safe for a baby and good for the environment are durable, decorative, and affordable.

Green Baby Health and Safety Products

One item that is easy to be organic and environmentally friendly with is baby health products such as lotions and baby wash. How do you know what is safe and good for a baby? Look for one with all-natural ingredients without a lot of preservatives and other chemicals in it.

When you look at a label, look past the wording that says "all-natural" or "organic" and read the list of ingredients. Do some research on the ingredients to find ones that are safe to be put on your baby. Everything that is put on your infant's skin is absorbed and eventually ends up in the bloodstream. The wrong ingredients can be harmful to a baby now and in the future.

You can also find strollers, car seats, and other items that are eco-friendly. Almost anything you can buy for babies can also be made in an ecologically-friendly way. Many of these items use recycled materials that would otherwise left in our environment for decades or even centuries.

Baby Clothing and Diapers

Clothing for babies and diapers are two more areas where you can go natural for gifts. While ecologically-friendly diapers used to be ugly, today they come with cute designs and work as well as regular diapers.

You can buy cloth diapers that are washable and resusable. However, another option is to buy diapers that are made of material that will break down quickly instead of lying in landfills for decades. Some of them have reusable diapers with disposable inserts that can be flushed down the toilet.

Choosing eco-friendly clothing for a baby means using natural products that are chemical-free and produced by humane means. For instance, using cotton that has been raised and harvested without pesticides. It will also mean using cotton producers that do not have child labor working in the cotton fields. Clothing made with organic cotton is softer and will last longer.

Toys

Landfills are filled with plastic toys that have been played with and tossed aside. It will take hundreds of years or longer for these items to break down. You can choose to buy ecologically-friendly toys that are cute and educational while being good for the earth.

These toys are made from sustainable wood, organic fabrics, and recycled materials. They are decorative and fun to play with. These toys also are often simpler made, while fostering creativity and helping develop skills in the child. Many of these items are made from wood that is harvested from sustainable forests. Other materials include fabric and rubber; when plastic is used, it comes from recycled products.

There are several ways to have a baby shower. You can go with themes, as if everyone brings diapers or books, Thanks for reading my article on the subject of Baby Shower visit [http://www.vpgifts.com] today and choose the best one for you.
